For immediate release: Wednesday 9 April 2003
Interaction Reaches 1000 Attending Member Mark
Interaction registered its 1000th Attending Member on
21 March 2003, less than 7 months after being selected
as the 2005 Worldcon. The lucky 1000th registration belongs
to David Forsythe from Northern Ireland.
Worldcon memberships always generate many statistics
and Interaction is no exception. Interaction's total
membership count currently stands at 1476 when Supporting
as well as Attending members are considered; and this
membership spans 20 countries with the largest contributions
not surprisingly coming from the US and UK.
Registrations are expected to continue at a steady rate
until mid-2004 and then to accelerate in the run-up to the
convention, which is expected to be attended by around 5000
SF fans from around the world.
Attending membership of Interaction is currently set
at £75 / $115, increasing on 1 June 2003 to £85 / $135.
Discounts are available for Friends and Presupporters of
the UK2005 bid.
Memberships are available for immediate purchase at various conventions,
through our web site, and via postal mail. Interaction will also shortly
be announcing an installment plan allowing membership costs to be spread
over up to 12 months. Information on all registration and payment options
(including membership rates in additional currencies including Euro, Yen,
and Australian and Canadian Dollars) is available from Interaction's
website at
http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/joining.htm.
