Comics Programme

Interaction Comics Programme

Comics adaptions are big business in the movies these days. In addition the comic and book industries are starting to see more cross-overs. Comics writers such as Dan Abnett and Fiona Avery have produced novels, while novelists such as Richard Morgan are writing comics. They will all be at Interaction, as will stars of the UK comics scene such as Alan Grant and Bryan Talbot, and up-and-coming talents such as Liam Sharp. Don't forget to look out for Talbot and Sharp in the Art Show as well. The programme includes items on:

  • Comics Now (a look at the current comics industry).

  • A History of British Comics.

  • Writing for Comics (comics writers discussing comics and how it differs from writing for other media).

  • Deep in the Heart of Empire (Bryan Talbot uncovers the symbolism, references and storytelling devices in the sequel to The Adventures of Luther Arkwright.)

  • Superheroes, Vigilantes & Police Officers with Big Guns.

  • From Spider-man to Justice League: A Look at Recent Comic Dramatizations.
